Planning on going to college? Start here!

Common App

Thinking about applying to more than one college? Common App makes it easy! With Common App, students complete ONE application with all the information necessary to apply; personal information, academic history, extracurricular activities, and essays. That application is submitted to any participating college or university that the student chooses. The students can also keep track of their deadlines and other required documents. Counselors and teachers can upload transcripts and letters of recommendation.

FAFSA

How are you planning on paying for college? FAFSA is a great place to start. It's the gateway to grants, work-study funds, federal student loans, scholarships, and certain state-based aid. It also is used by colleges and universities to determine eligibility of school-based aid. Every college-bound student should fill out the FAFSA, even if they don't think they'll qualify. Click on the button below ASAP to create your FSA ID so you are ready to complete the FAFSA when it opens on Oct 1.

Brag Sheet

A brag sheet is a document that a student creates to provide a detailed summary of their accomplishments, experiences, and personal qualities. The counseling department shares these brag sheets with OHS staff so that we can write strong, personal, and effective letters of recommendation, packed with details. To write your brag sheet, please click the button below.
