Assignment
Assignment (Honors English 10)
You are required to read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak over the summer and be prepared for a formative assessment when you return in the fall. The book is in the 10th grade curriculum. You may take notes as you read to refresh your memory.
There will be a formative assessment (ie: journal response) once you return to school in the fall. Notes are optional. The expectation is that you have read a book using the above guidelines.
Assignment (Honors English 9)
You are required to read one of the book options below over the summer, create a one-page preview, and mark 10 key moments
Approved Books: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Blood of the Prodigal by P.L. Gaus, Divergent by Veronica Roth, or Eragon by Christopher Paolini
There will be a formative assessment once you return to school in the fall, to assess your reading comprehension and writing abilities.
