Assignment (Honors English 10)

• You are required to read one of the two book options below over the summer and be prepared for a formative assessment when you return in the fall. Both books are in the 10th grade curriculum. You may take notes as you read to refresh your memory.

• The Book Thief by Markus Zusak or

• The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan

• There will be a formative assessment (ie: journal response) once you return to school in the fall. Notes are optional. The expectation is that you have read a book using the above guidelines.  

There are different avenues you can use to access a book this summer.

• Purchase

• Download to your phone, tablet, computer

  • E-Book

  • Audible

  • Project Gutenberg

• Borrow

  • Orrville Public Library, etc.
