Attendance Matters!

Chronically absent students (missing about 18 days, or ~10% of school days) perform significantly worse academically.

Poorer reading/math outcomes and an increased risk of dropping out later are associated with early absenteeism, even in kindergarten.

Nationally, the rate of students missing 10% or more of school days nearly doubled from 2018 to 2022, reaching about 28%.

Regular attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success, sometimes more so than test scores.
