Child Find
Orrville City Schools is committed to identifying, locating, and evaluating all children with disabilities, from birth through age 21, as part of Ohio’s statewide Child Find efforts. Our goal is to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.
What Qualifies as a Disability?
Birth to Age 2: A disability may include a known condition likely to cause a delay or a documented developmental delay in areas such as adaptive behavior, cognition, communication, physical development, sensory development, or social-emotional growth.
Ages 3 to 21: A disability may involve conditions such as autism, developmental delay, intellectual disability, hearing impairment, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, emotional disturbance, other health impairment, specific learning disability, traumatic brain injury, visual impairment, deaf-blindness, or speech/language impairment.
How We Can Help
If a disability is suspected, your child may be eligible for special education and related services tailored to their needs. Orrville City Schools offers free assessments to determine if a disability exists and how we can support your child’s growth and education.
