Heartland Education Community and Orrville City Schools Announce Over $160,000 in Student-Centered Initiatives
ORRVILLE, OHIO—August 27, 2025— The Heartland Education Community, Inc., in partnership with the Orrville City Schools administrative team and dedicated support staff, is proud to announce a major investment of over $160,000 in educational, wellness, and enrichment programs for the 2025–2026 school year.
Through this collaboration, the district will advance innovative learning, mentorship, and community engagement opportunities that empower students and enhance educational outcomes across all grade levels.
Highlights of Funded Programs Include:
Character Education
Heartland will support Rachel’s Challenge, including school-wide events, student-led character initiatives, and branded materials that foster responsibility, resilience, and integrity in students.Extended Learning Opportunities
Scholarships and funding for Camp Invention, Outdoor Education, and Washington D.C. trips. After-school and summer enrichment programs will ensure year-round learning and exploration.Mentorship & Wellness
Over $55,000 will be allocated to OHuddle mentoring, including the hiring of a part-time site coordinator. An additional $2,500 will be dedicated to student and staff wellness programs.STEAM & Innovation
A $2,500 allocation will enhance district STEM labs, promoting creative and analytical thinking among students.Support for English Learners
More than $5,000 will fund targeted outreach and support services for English Learners and their families.Community Engagement
Heartland will continue to provide funding for the OrrViews newspaper and cover the printing and distribution of the district calendar to strengthen school-to-home communication.Youth Development
A $5,000 investment in the Orrville Area Boys & Girls Club supports character development and leadership through the Positive Coaching Alliance.
Heartland’s leadership also successfully procured more than $35,000 in additional grants from organizations, including:

Austin-Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation
These external funds further amplify the reach and depth of the district’s programs.
