Orrville High School hosted a College and Career Fair on Wednesday, March 18, bringing together high school students from Orrville High School and the Wayne County Schools Career Center for an event focused on future opportunities after graduation.
The purpose of the fair was to introduce students to the many career and educational pathways available right here in Wayne and Holmes counties. Whether students are planning to enter the workforce immediately after high school, continue their education, or pursue both, the event gave them the chance to explore a wide range of options and make valuable connections.
The fair featured 23 stations representing 10 companies, 5 colleges and trade schools, and more than 20 professions. Students learned about several of Northeast Ohio’s most in-demand career fields, including healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and information technology. Many participating organizations reported that they are actively recruiting for seasonal and full-time positions, providing students with direct access to real employment opportunities.
One highlight of the event was a station led by Mr. Tom Hiller, where students could receive resume feedback, respond to mock interview questions, and test their knowledge with trivia related to hiring, interviewing, and human resources practices. This hands-on experience gave students practical tools they can use as they prepare for college, careers, and life after high school.
Orrville High School is grateful for the strong support shown by local businesses, colleges, and community partners. Their willingness to volunteer their time, share their expertise, and invest in students made this event a success. Partnerships like these help students better understand the opportunities available to them and strengthen the connection between education and the workforce.
We extend a sincere thank you to all of the organizations that participated in this year’s event:
