Members of the Orrville High School Girls Soccer Team recently stepped away from the field to give back to the community by helping The Salvation Army Orrville-Maiwurm Service Center pack back-to-school bags for local families.

The Lady Riders worked together to pack bags with school supplies and other items to help area students and families get ready for the start of a new school year.

The service project was a great example of teamwork extending beyond athletics. Our student-athletes had the opportunity to work side by side, support an important community organization, and help make the beginning of the school year a little easier for local families.

At Orrville City Schools, we are proud when our students represent the Red Riders through service, leadership, and a willingness to help others. Experiences like this remind us that the lessons learned through athletics go far beyond wins and losses.

We appreciate The Salvation Army Orrville-Maiwurm Service Center for the work it does in our community and for giving our students meaningful opportunities to serve.
