Back to School Bash/ Meet the Teams‼️#redridernation

What a great evening at our Back to School Bash & Meet Our Teams! ❤️🖤
It was wonderful to see so many of our students, families, staff, coaches, and community members together as we get ready for another great school year at Orrville City Schools.
A special thank you to our PTO for organizing such a fun event for our students and families!
We also want to recognize our custodial and maintenance staff for all of their work behind the scenes to help make the evening possible.
And finally, thank you to our community groups, coaches, teams, volunteers, and everyone who participated. Events like this are a great reminder of what makes Orrville such a special place.
We are grateful for a community that continues to show up for our kids! ❤️🖤
We Are Orrville. We Are Red Riders.

Today was one of our favorite team-building days—the Orrville XC Scavenger Hunt! Teams had 1 hour and 15 minutes to run around town and complete as many challenges as possible. The challenges included taking pictures with a fire truck 🚒, finding a mural 🎨, bussing a table at a local restaurant, pumping a stranger's gas, picking weeds at a teacher’s house, helping people carry groceries, completing random acts of kindness at local businesses, finding hidden books around town, and plenty of other ridiculous photo challenges along the way!
And, of course, we had some awards to hand out…
🏆 Best Dressed: Team Brielle
🏃 Most Distance Covered: Team Parker
🥇 2026 XC Scavenger Hunt Champions: Team Kinsley!

🔴⚪ Incoming 5th Graders Explore OMS! 🐎
Our incoming 5th-grade Red Riders had a great time getting to know Orrville Middle School during Peer Mentoring/Boot Camp!
With help from their 7th- and 8th-grade peer mentors, students took on a scavenger hunt throughout OMS—finding classrooms, important locations, practicing with lockers, working together, and meeting some familiar faces along the way.
It was a fun way to build confidence, make connections, and make OMS feel a little more like home before the first day of school!
A big THANK YOU to our peer mentors for helping welcome our newest middle school Red Riders! ❤️
We’re excited to have you at OMS, Class of 2034!

Never Walk Alone 5K/ I Mile Walk

Orrville’s Be Elite Lifting Program completed its 4th summer of work this Friday, and capped off what has been an exceptional summer of hard work from members of our Girls Soccer, Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Cross Country, Track, Softball, Tennis, and Swim teams.
In addition to the pictures attached, here are some of this summer’s highlights:
-Monday speed workout days were led by Coach Doug Davault, challenging the girls to push themselves after relaxing summer weekends
-Weight room strength training and technique were taught and supervised on Tuesdays and Thursdays by Coach Weatherwax, Coach Stuart, Coach Summers, and Coach Yurik. The girls hit numerous PRs (Personal Records) this summer!
-The 1st ever Be Elite Lift-a-Thon raised over $1200 for the Be Elite program! The girls tested their strength in bench, squat, and hang cleans, and put up numerous personal records! Those numbers are now hanging in the weight room.
-Some of the funds raised went towards covering a trip to the Go-Ape Zip-Line and Ropes course in Strongsville, while the team enjoyed Culver’s after!
-Friday Morning runs were led by Coach Shumney! These included numerous team challenges, scavenger hunts, and a good sweat worked up!
As we end the summer, we coaches extend a thanks to all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, siblings, and friends, who help support our athletes and allow them to be part of programs like this! Here’s to year 5 next summer!
