Welcome, John Kinsey, OHS Assistant Principal.
Get to know Mr. Kinsey.
I grew up in Mogadore, Ohio, and graduated from Mogadore High School in 2006. I earned my undergraduate degree in Education (Intervention) from Walsh University in 2011. I later achieved my Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University in January 2024.
I have served as an Intervention Specialist in the Springfield, Coventry, and Southeast school districts for the previous 12 years, and I believe that leadership in education is built through communication, collaboration, and differentiation. I served as the Head Baseball Coach at Springfield from 2017 to 2021, at Coventry in 2023, and at Southeast in 2024 and 2025. I also served as the Head Football Coach at Coventry High School from 2021 to 2023.
I enjoy spending quality time with my wife, Kaitlin, and our three children, Lucy (8), Charlotte (4), and John (4), as well as our dogs, Irish and TJ. We currently reside in Mogadore and look forward to becoming an integral part of the community here in Orrville, both in the immediate future and for years to come.

Congratulations, Cassie Poynter, on her new role as Assistant Principal at Orrville Elementary School!
Cassie Poynter is a graduate of Westlake High School in Westlake, Ohio. She earned her undergraduate degree from Heidelberg University and holds a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University with a principal license from the American College of Education.
Cassie lives in Orrville with her husband, James, who works in finance at a local bank, and their two children, Aleigh (10) and Ivy (6). Their family also includes a cat named Shadow. Outside of work, Cassie enjoys running, hiking, gardening, and going on adventures with her family.
Professionally, Cassie brings 17 years of experience in education as an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist for Tri-County Preschool. She is excited to join the Orrville City School community and looks forward to building meaningful relationships with students, families, and the dedicated staff who make Orrville Elementary School a wonderful place of learning and belonging.
She is enthusiastic about supporting teachers in their ongoing commitment to education, celebrating student success, and helping foster a school environment where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to grow in the Orrville education system.

Welcome, Troy Spiker, to the Red Rider Nation!
Troy Spiker brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student development to his role as Athletic Director of Orrville High School.
He grew up in Rootstown, Ohio, and graduated from Rootstown High School in 2008. He earned his undergraduate degree in nursing from Capital University in 2012, where he was a member of the football and Track teams. He later achieved his Master of Education in Athletic Administration from William Woods University in June 2020. In 2023, he achieved national certification as a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).
Troy Spiker believes that leadership centers on building strong relationships, honesty, and transparency across departments and community organizations. Since 2021, he has overseen the athletic programs for both Crestwood High School and Middle School, managing 39 teams and fostering a significant increase in student participation—from 33.7% to 49.6%—highlighted by the recent addition of Varsity Girls Wrestling.
He is dedicated to enhancing the experiences and memories of young students through athletics. One of his notable initiatives includes the expansion and redesign of Crestwood's Athletic Wall of Fame, which grew from 37 to 111 honorees, celebrating All-Ohio student-athletes and inspiring current and future students.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Troy enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Samantha; their daughter, Oaklynn; and their dog, Ryder. They reside in Uniontown, Ohio, and cherish camping trips during the summer months.
